From my book Unsolicited Advice: The Canceled Memoir of a Consent Educator
The second thing you should prepare for is an elevation in your standards. You will require more of your friends, your family, your lovers, and yourself. This is part of why some of those relationships will shift or fall away. This change might initially result in feelings of isolation, but ultimately it will draw people to you who are looking for the same level of honesty and the same commitment to transparency. Your relationships will be deeper, easier. You will find flow.
If I want everyone to be resourced, I have to start with myself. I have to embody that reality in order to believe it's possible.
